The Reno Tournament captured Gerald K. "Jerry" Moore's officiating heart and soul from the beginning. He laced up his signature boxing shoes and started slapping mats in Reno in 1997, the second year after the Tournament of Champions launch. He kept coming back for 21 consecutive years. It was a joy for him. Each year the Reno Tournament of Champions honors someone who gives back to their community through the sport of wrestling. This year the Tournament will recognize Gerald K. “Jerry” Moore, legendary wrestling official, on Saturday, December 18 at the Reno Events Center.
The Tournament will honor Jerry posthumously with its “Heritage" Award a recognition reserved for the “best of the best.” Tournament coaches, officials and Jerry’s daughters will accept the award. The event will be live streamed by FloSports. Visit the Tournament website for details. ~ Thank You Reno Tournament of Champions for honoring Jerry with the “Heritage Award” and recognizing his contributions to the sport of wrestling and to the Tournament for more than two decades.~ The Jerry Moore Family ~

ON ETERNAL PATROL
Gerald K. "Jerry" Moore, 1937 - 2019
Jerry loved living life rocking, in a cabin, somewhere along the Arkansas River. This spot was a refuge, every year, in the fall. Sadly, Jerry was unable to commandeer this rocking spot this year. On October 22 he took on his new assignment, "Eternal Patrol," a submariner's after-life mission.
Jerry led a life of positive impact. He had a natural ability to see and develop talent everywhere. He expressed gratitude to everyone for everything. So, a thank you to you, Jerry. "Thank you for your childlike people-loving spirit that shone through your beautiful baby blues, it's you we appreciate."
"Thank you for all you did, your inspiration and support - life gifts thoughtfully and generously shared. We love you, forever."
